Let me start by saying, thank goodness I tortured my first born with photo shoots because this second little boy of mine HATES cooperating for pictures! I took 127 photos of him and the ones I've posted are the only ones that came out half decent.

Another Little Miracle Enters Our Life

As you probably know by now, we are so excited to announce that on January 14, 2012 at 2:17am our precious baby boy, Gavin Michael made his appearance into the world weighing 5 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 inches.
On January 13th at about 8:30pm my contractions were 1 minute apart and seemed more intense than the ones I had been experiencing over the last 4 weeks that landed me on bed rest. With much hesitation, I finally convinced myself to pack up and head to the hospital. I didn't really want to go due to all of our false alarms. Good thing we did! When we arrived I was hooked up to monitors and an IV for fluids. The monitor showed that baby was doing great and Mom was in fact experiencing contractions that were 1 minute apart and intense! I was checked and had finally dilated from 3 cm to 4 cm. The doctor decided she just wanted me monitored. No decisions were going to be made for surgery at this time. Two hours later, I was rechecked and was now 6 cm dilated! At that time, the doctor felt we needed to prepare for a c-section. From there, everything went pretty quickly. I met with the anesthesiologist and next thing I knew I was being wheeled in to the OR.
Gavin Michael arrived and was immediately checked by the neonatal doctors and nurses due to his prematurity. He was having difficulty breathing and the decision was made to take him to the NICU. The nurse carried him over for me to quickly kiss his head and he was gone! After surgery, I went to my room where I recovered until 2pm. At that time my catheter was removed and I was able to get into a wheel chair and head to the NICU to see my newest angel!
Gavin spent the day and night in the NICU. He did well and was taken off of the CPAP (a tool that aids in breathing). He was great about taking bottle feeds and by late afternoon on Sunday my baby was discharged from the NICU and able to spend the remainder of our hospital stay next to my bed side... A huge change from my first delivery.
On Tuesday afternoon, I was discharged. This time, with my baby in my arms I left the hospital! We've since then been adjusting to life as a family of four, which is wonderful! Gavin Michael is such a sweet baby. He smiles in his sleep often and eats every 3-4 hours sleeping the entire time in between :-)

35 Weeks and 4 Days

From the news we received on December 15th, it's amazing that I've made it this far. I had a high risk appointment this morning, which was my last one with them. The appointment went well and both Gavin and I are hanging in there.
He now weighs 5 lbs. 10 oz. and is extremely active. The ultrasound technician and doctor had a difficult time getting good pictures and measurements due to his acrobats. They also said he looks very scrunched. His arms and legs were all smashed! From the looks of it, he's definitely going to follow in his brothers footsteps of being active. Guess I'll get in shape quickly :-)
The doctor took me off of my medication and said he's now comfortable with Gavin arriving whenever he's ready. I couldn't be more happy to hear that. I've been very against all of the medications they've given me and worried about the effects they would have on Gavin. Now, it's up to the little guy. Whenever he's ready, I'm MORE than ready!
I'm beyond uncomfortable with contractions every 2 minutes apart. I can't sleep at night due to the contractions and the need to use the bathroom constantly. I also can not rest during the day. I sit on the couch, but constantly feel the contractions and find more comfort in getting up and walking. I think walking helps me not to focus on the contractions. I'm so anxious to see what this little boy of mine will look like and see what his personality will be.
Hopefully the next time I update, we will have great news of Gavin Michael's arrival! In the mean time, please continue to keep us in your prayers for a safe and smooth delivery.

On Saturday, Braiden went to his friends house to celebrate her 4th birthday. As you can guess, Braiden was in his glory and had a blast! He enjoyed the bounce house, sand table, pinata, and of course... the cake!

Happy New Year to all that read the blog! We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating. Hopefully some of you had a drink for me :-)

This post will be picture less, as we've not had much going on to take pictures of. Since our last post, I have been back to the hospital. I spent most of New Years Eve in labor and delivery. My contractions were 1 minute apart! Of course, the routine was done. I received terbutaline for the contractions and IV fluids, blood was drawn and I was checked for progress. I was still at 3 cm and 50 % effaced. This little guy is just enjoying torturing his mommy.

I had an appointment this Tuesday and all was the same. Still 3cm dilated and 50% effaced. The doctor could feel Gavin's head and said it's just a matter of the contractions I'm having becoming strong enough to cause progress. Progress being, my water breaking or further dilation. Once one of those occurs, he will be on his way! As for now, I just continue to have restless days and sleepless nights. The contractions I'm having aren't too painful, just more annoying. Not to mention the fact that I'm going to the bathroom every 15 minutes.

This Saturday, I will reach 35 weeks! A huge milestone, considering they were prepared for his arrival at 32 weeks. At this point, he will definitely be bigger than his brother was. I'm just really anxious to see his precious face and to see who he'll look like. I had a dream last night that he weighed 6 lbs 2 oz. and was 19 inches long. So, we'll see how close he'll be to that size. If he's going to weigh 6 lbs. I've got a few more weeks left of just sitting around.

If I can hold out until next week, I will have a regular OB appointment on Monday and a high risk appointment on Tuesday. After the Tuesday appointment we will have ultrasound pictures and will have a good estimate of Gavin's weight. I will be sure to update after the appointment.

Not a Typical Christmas

This Christmas was not exactly a traditional Christmas. We were missing family, I was stuck on the couch, and Braiden and Dave were a bit under the weather with colds. However, we were together and I didn't spend it in the hospital!

A tradition since Phillip and I were little was listening to my Dad read Twas the Night Before Christmas before bed time on Christmas Eve. The tradition continued with Braiden when he spent his first Christmas in VA with his Pop. Last year and this year, we sadly were not able to be with Pop, so we had to listen to him read the story through a recordable book. What a great thing technology is. Braiden absolutely loves his book and has continued reading it every night since Christmas Eve :-)

Bed Rest Update

I've officially made it 10 days on bed rest! I have been back to labor and delivery since then and actually spent a few hours there last night. I was experiencing a lot of contractions yesterday, every 2 minutes to be exact. Finally, at 9:00 pm I decided I better call the Dr. Of course, they immediately advise that I head to labor and delivery.
So, yet again, Dave loads my suit case into the car and our wonderful friends, who were actually over visiting stayed home with Braiden. Once I got hooked up to the monitors, what I already knew was confirmed. I was contracting every 2 minutes and they were strong! So, immediately IV fluids were started and a shot of terbutaline was given. The shot didn't stop the contractions like it's supposed to, so another was given. The contractions did not fully go away but became less intense and less often. I was given another bag of IV fluids and at this point it was decided that I needed to be checked to see if I was dilating anymore than I already am. Good news is, I'm still at 3 cm dilated. So, I was able to return home after midnight. I am still on strict bed rest and my medication at home was bumped up to every 6 hours instead of 8 hours.
My goal now is to make it until Monday! I want to be home with my little boy on Christmas day, NOT in a hospital!
The doctor explained that our concern now is dilating. The second I dilate past 3 cm I will be admitted to labor and delivery and will be kept there until Gavin arrives! So, please say some prayers for us. I do not want to end up on bed rest in the hospital, which would also mean I would be hooked back up to magnesium sulfate, which is one of the worst medications I've ever been on. The doctors and nurses refer to it as the flu in a bag. It makes you sweat, causes blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, your heart races, and you must lay flat on your back and be hooked up to a catheter. NOT FUN AT ALL! So, my prayer is, once I start dilating further, I dilate quickly. If I get to 7 cm they will end up doing the C-section. We will do our best to keep everyone updated.

33 Weeks

Cookies for Santa

My biggest fear since being put on bed rest was that something would go wrong and I wouldn't be home on Christmas to decorate cookies with my baby. So, the other night, Dave went out and bought cookie dough and I got to watch Braiden decorate cookies. As you can guess, he enjoyed licking the icing and eating the sprinkles :-)

A Puppy and a Hair Cut

Hospital Stay and Strict Bed Rest

All of the posts below this are very short and mainly just include photos. The reason being, I am currently on strict bed rest and realized I had not updated this blog since the first week in November. So, sorry for the lack of postings, but I will explain here...

As you read the post before this, you will see that December has started off as a difficult month and isn't geting much better.

This past Thursday I was experiencing lower back pain, so I called my doctors office. Since I'm high risk, they get me in with any little complaint. So, in to the office I go. The doctor suspected a kidney infection, but when I arrived at the office and was examined it was clearly not a kidney infection causing my back pain, it was the start of contractions and the fact that I was 1 cm dilated. My doctor wasted no time and sent me straight to labor and delivery to be monitored. While over there, I continued dilating and the contractions became more frequent, occurring every 4-5 minutes. I received two shots of Terbutaline, an injection used to slow down contractions. When this medication wasn't doing it's job, the doctor decided it was time for me to be admitted. Soon after being admitted, I was started on Magnesium Sulfate, another drug used to stop contractions and was given my first steroid shot to develop Gavin's lungs. By Friday morning my contractions had slowed down and by the afternoon I was taken off of Magnesium sulfate and put on Procardia, another medication used to stop contractions. Friday went well and I was finally allowed out of bed to go to the bathroom on my own. My contractions had subsided, the medication and fluids were continued. That night I received the second steroid shot for Gavin's lungs. On Saturday the decision was made that I could return home on strict bed rest and would remain on the Procardia. So, I am now home and stuck in bed and on the couch for the duration of my pregnancy. I'm currently 32 weeks and our goal is to keep Gavin in as long as possible.
Please keep us in your prayers and hope that we can hold out for a few more weeks! While Gavin is trying hard to follow in his brothers footsteps, we're trying to get him a bit more chubby before making his appearance :-)

A Difficult Start to December

Just a few days shy of her 90th Birthday, my Baba went on to heaven. Braiden and I were all set to fly to PA to surprise her for her birthday and a few days before we were to depart, I received the devastating phone call. Healthy, strong, and tough... that was my Baba. No signs that she was about to leave us. We will forever miss her.

This picture was taken exactly one year ago on her 89th birthday.

While we were in PA, we celebrated Baba's life and had our family Christmas party. We had a nice time visiting with all of our family and Braiden of course enjoyed the party :-) A special thanks to my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Ken who kept us for our entire visit! I'm sure they're glad to have peace and quiet back in their house!

Choo-Choo trains, snow in FL, cookie decorating, bounce houses, cop cars, pop corn, music, helicopters, the big man in red, and fireworks.... We saw all of these things on Friday evening!
I'll admit, Santa's arrival in the beginning of November is a bit early. However, Braiden and I had a fun night together and it was a way to welcome the holiday seasons that are quickly approaching.
On Friday, after work, Braiden and I headed out to our local mall with some friends. They blocked off a large portion of the parking lot and had a bunch of fun and FREE events going on for children. One of the highlights of the night was that it was snowing! Of course, the snow was coming from machines, but for the children here it was such a neat experience.

26 Weeks

I had an appointment with my High Risk OB yesterday. Everything is still going smoothly and there are no concerns at this time. Gavin Michael weighs 2 lbs. 1 0z. and his heart rate was a strong 143 bpm. He's measuring in the 60th percentile, which is above average! Gavin is still measuring one week ahead of schedule, so it seems he's following in his brothers footsteps. The entire pregnancy with Braiden, they told me what a fat baby he would be and had he made it full term he would have been close to a 9 lb baby! We shall see :-)

Trick-or-Treat

On Monday we took Braiden out to trick-or-treat with his buddies, Lauren and Ashlynn. What a difference a year makes! Braiden ran to every house, walked up to the door, knocked, and loudly said, "trick-or-treat!" He then was sure to saying a loud, "thank you" for each piece of candy he received. He was so comfortable with trick-or-treating that he asked a few people if he could go inside of their house! What can I say, he's like his Mommy... social butterfly :-)
He had a great night and didn't get home until almost 9pm!

A Beautiful Sunday

It was perfect weather! Chilly in the morning and perfect during the afternoon. Diana called to see if we wanted to head to the park. While we were there, we decided we wanted to do something fun with the kids. It just so happened it was our churches fall festival. So, after the park and some lunch, we headed that way. We all had a great time. As you can guess Braiden enjoyed the entire day of running, eating cotton candy, seeing clowns, and playing on inflatables.

Busy Bee's

What you ask has kept us so busy? We've been rearranging the entire house, or at least that's what it's felt like. I have not wanted to, but with the increase in trucks, balls, books, and stuff that a two year old little boy comes with our family room was more of a jungle gym than a family room. When friends came over there was no way for the adults to carry on a conversation in the family room or kitchen because of the volume of little voices along with the lovely toys that all make noise!
So, I broke down and we turned my beautiful sun room in the front of the house into a play room. It is so much more practical knowing that very soon our boy toys will multiply :-) The family room is back to a peaceful place to enjoy time on the couch, watch TV, and visit with friends. Braiden really seems to enjoy his new "special room" as he refers to it.
In doing this, we also had to rearrange the dining room to make space for the large shrunk that comes in three pieces. Two of which had to fit into the dining room along with two side tables. I wasn't sure how all of this was going to pan out, but I have to say I am very happy with it! The play room could still use some decorative touches, but it's good for the time being.

We also made the decision to make Gavin Michael's room the middle room of our house. That meant moving what was a guest bedroom to the back room, which was the one room in this house unfinished. I never got around to painting it. We decided to make the move when I was out running errands one day and saw a pretty comforter set that was marked down more than 1/2 of it's original price. It was the right size and colors that I liked. So, I bought the paint, got out the roller and got to work. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

As for the nursery... it was not easy finding bedding that I liked. I went back and forth between a few. It's hard being a person who doesn't like themes. Everything for boys has trucks, bugs, jungle animals, cars, or balls on it! Not me at all. I found a bedding that I liked and hoped it would work with the color of the room. Of course, that was wishful thinking and in the back of my head, I knew it wasn't going to go that smoothly. That's okay though. Yet again, paint was picked and the roller came out. I really do like the nursery. It still needs a few touches as two of the walls are completely bare, but I'll save that for another day.

For now, I'm just enjoying all of the "new" rooms in our house. I can't help but stand in the doorway and stare into the nursery thinking of how wonderful it will feel when there's a brand new, sweet smelling baby boy to fill it.

Looking at these makes me wish I would have taken before and after photos!

Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon we headed to a local pumpkin patch. They're hard to find here in the south and typically they consider pumpkins and hay in a church parking lot a pumpkin patch... far cry from what I'm used to up north! However, the place we went to was cute and Braiden had an absolute blast! Between the hayride, animals, live music, hay stacks to climb on, and puddles of mud, Braiden was in his glory.

23 Weeks

Last Friday, I had a visit with the high risk OB. Everything went well at the appointment and they were able to confirm that all is well with Gavin's heart! What a relief. All four chambers of the heart were visible and working properly. Gavin now weighs 1 lb. 3 oz and is measuring a week ahead of schedule. His heart rate was 149 bpm and he was extremely active! None of the pictures I got were good because he wasn't exactly cooperating well.
We recently received a very special gift from friends. Thank you so much to Jen and Jacqueline for the sweet monogrammed blanket for Gavin Michael.

The Circus

A few weeks ago I took Braiden to the local circus! We went with his buddies, Hayden and Wilson. Braiden absolutely LOVED every minute of it. At the end of the show, he looks at me and says, "Momma, no elephants!?" My poor baby was expecting a real circus with lions and tigers and elephants!!!!!!! We'll have to find a real circus to take him to :-)

21 Weeks

I had an appointment with my regular OB at 21 weeks. All seems to be going well. This appointment was very basic. They just listened to Gavin's heart beat, which sounds nice and strong and checked my blood pressure, which is also good.

An Eventful Weekend at 19 Weeks

I started my week like this...

And it ended like this...

My 19th week of pregnancy was going great. On Friday night we cooked out at a friends house. It was a nice relaxing night. We were home early and I decided to watch TV and then head to bed. Around 11:00pm I jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom where I began throwing up and didn't stop until 3:30am! I was then able to get myself to the couch. I tried taking small sips of water and with each sip, I began to get sick again. By 4:00am, I knew I had to wake Dave and head to the ER. I was extremely dizzy and knew dehydration was becoming an issue. Our wonderful neighbor came over to stay with Braiden and Dave and I headed to the hospital. They did blood work and a urine sample. Both checked out fine, just showing what I knew was a problem... I was dehydrated. I received fluids via IV as well as anti nausea medicine. Once they got me feeling better and made sure Baby #2 was okay, we were able to head home. Let me tell you, food poisoning on a regular day is no fun, but food poisoning at 19 weeks pregnant sure STINKS!

Braiden's Gigi recently came to visit. She spent two weeks here helping out around the house and spending time with her little man. We sure miss her when she's gone! While she was here I never once took out my camera. In fact, I've been horrible lately about taking pictures. During her stay, she was able to help me finish making Braiden's room a "big boy" room. We finally found a comforter and pillows. I love how it looks and I think Braiden loves his room as well!

IT'S A........

Today's appointment was extremely long and in depth. We met with three different people in three different rooms. We got a lot of helpful information. They did a very detailed ultrasound that lasted about 40 minutes. They measured every inch of the baby's body. Everything looks good, however they are a bit concerned about the baby's heart. They could not get a good look or a good measurement of it, so they will continue to check it closely throughout the pregnancy. My placenta is a bit low, so they will be monitoring that as well.
I will begin a regimen of a high dose of calcium as well as one baby aspirin per day to try to help avoid from developing sever preeclampsia like I did with Braiden. Unfortunately there's no way to prevent it from happening, but we can try to be proactive and catch it before it gets out of control. I will also be going for an extensive panel of blood work next week.
So.... since you all are not interested in all of this, check out the pictures below to find out what it is that we'll be having this go around :-)

That's right, we're starting our own Dore household football team! Baby # 2 is another active little BOY! They had an extremely difficult time getting good pictures because he, like his brother doesn't seem to want to hold still for one second. I do believe I'm going to have my hands full :-)

By 9:00am tomorrow we will finally know if Baby #2 is a BOY or a GIRL! I have an appointment with the high risk doctors at 8:15am. It will be an early morning for all of us as we have to be at the office by 7:40am.
I am beyond excited. Now, we'll just say a little prayer tonight that this baby cooperates for the ultrasound :-)

Nags Head 2011

Last week we packed up the car for a 10 hour drive to Nags Head, North Carolina for our yearly beach trip with the Suter Family! It sure is a long ride, but we had a great vacation together. Braiden was a perfect traveler and proved to be a real beach bum :-)

On Monday all of the guys went out deep sea fishing. They did great and caught 3 marlin and some dolphin. I do believe they had a nice trip :-)

Are these not the cutest three little boys you've ever seen?! Before we left for vacation, Braiden's buddies came over to play. They took a bath together and I decided white onesies would be cute :-) At school they call the three of them the TRIPLETS! I picked them all up from school last week, all week long! God bless those that have triplets! All three go in different directions. They sure are fun all together though :-)

The Second Trimester Begins

I am now 14 weeks according to my last ultrasound. The doctor said I could be off by about a week as he couldn't get good measurements at that appointment. So, at most I'm 15 weeks :-) We will have a much better idea at exactly how far along I am in 2 weeks. At that time I will have an appointment with the high risk doctors and will have a more in depth ultrasound done.
At my appointment today, everything checked out great. My weight gain is on target, the heart rate was a steady 150 bpm, and best of all... my blood pressure was excellent!
Next time I blog about Baby #2 with updates we will be able to tell you if this little miracle is a
BOY or a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Baby is Not Such a Baby...

Last Saturday we decided to break down Braiden's crib and turn it in to a BIG BOY BED!!!! Dave was not thrilled with the idea, but I wanted to do it now so that Braiden could have plenty of time to transition. I want him to be completely comfortable in his bed before the new baby comes along.

The transition could not have gone more smoothly! Braiden went right into his bed that night and has not gotten out of it once. He's been sleeping great and is excited to climb into bed himself at nap time and bedtime. He's such a big boy!

Over the weekend I put cereal in a bowl for Braiden, put the cereal back up onto the counter, so little hands couldn't reach it. I walked into my room to get ready and came back to the family room to..........

Apparently what I thought was out of arms reach was definitely NOT! I saw this and said, "Oh my goodness, Braiden!" "What happened?" He relied, "A big mess, Momma!"

It sure was, but he was sweet enough to help clean the mess up. Got to love TWO YEARS OLD!

Update on Baby #2

Baby #2 seems to be growing right on target. Since I am considered high risk this time around, I've already had three appointments with another in 3 weeks. The most recent was on Thursday. No ultrasound at this one, but the heart rate sounded nice and strong at a steady 160 bpm. I will go back on August 11th and then will visit with the high risk doctors on August 26th. At that time, we will have a 3D ultrasound and if baby is cooperating, we will be able to find out if we're having a boy or a girl! The planner in me can not wait for this appointment. I will finally be able to start shopping and setting up yet another nursery :-)

We had special visitors the beginning of July. Our good friends, Megan and Rich came to visit with their little guy, Baby Richie :-) We had a nice visit and Braiden had some practice at being a big brother.

Last weekend we took Braiden to his first real movie in the theater. He had been to one before, but he was a baby. We weren't sure how he would do sitting for 1hour 53minutes. We were shocked, he did amazing!!!!! He sat for the entire movie, laughed at the funny parts, had his mouth wide open with a smile, and every 5 minutes would look to me or Dave and say, "vroom, vroom, it's a race car!" I'm so glad we took him. We're now trying to figure out what we should take him to see next.

This past weekend we went to another friends birthday party and what a party it was! They had a clown, face painter, moon bounce, and much more. It was right up Braiden's alley. He had so much fun and screamed when it was time to take him home.

An Amazing Day for Braiden

Today was such a special day for Braiden. First of all, when I became pregnant I always said I never wanted my baby to have to go to daycare. Obviously, I ended up having to put him in school and I can honestly say, days like today make me so happy with our decision :-)
Braiden absolutely LOVES school. He loves all of his buddies, teachers, and fun activities. His wonderful teachers made today an extra special day in celebration on Braiden's 2nd birthday.
Braiden's favorite thing at school is water day. They have yet to have one since it's been warm out, so today was the kick off of water day Friday!

Beach Day

Last weekend was beautiful here in FL. We got up early and headed to the beach with Braiden. He wasn't so fond of the ocean this trip, but he enjoyed building sand castles, chasing the birds, and fishing :-)

Two Years Ago Today...

We were blessed with the most beautiful miracle. Our sweet Braiden Christopher entered this world at a whopping 4 lbs. 3oz. He made his appearance a little over 7 weeks early, which we now know is completely his personality. He has a short temper, very little patience, and is eager to get on to the next activity; only fitting that he couldn't wait to get into this world.

Each day with Braiden continues to get better than the one before. He is a ball of energy. He's a loving, energetic toddler. He truly keeps us going and makes us smile every day. We are beyond blessed. Every month with him is exciting and leaves us waiting for his next trick or funny comment. I sure do miss my baby, but the little boy looking back at me each day leaves me waiting for what life has in store for us.

Last night we took Braiden to his very first SUNS baseball game. It's the minor league team here in Jacksonville. He had a great time. He didn't watch too much of the game as he preferred entertaining the people around him and imitating the man calling out, "Snow cone, get your snow cone!" It was a beautiful night and the 3 of us had a good time :-)

Parade at School and Visit to the ER

Last week Braiden's school had a celebration all week long called, The Week of the Young Child. It's a celebration of all of our precious little angels. To end the celebration they had a parade on Friday. I showed up to the parade and Braiden didn't seem himself. His teachers said he was great up until nap time. He came over to me and right away I knew he had a high fever. It was 103.2, which is the highest he's ever had. We came home and I gave him Gatorade, Motrin and we took a rest on the couch together. In no time, he was back to his regular self. Until 5am on Saturday, that is. He woke up crying with a temp of 104.5. I called the urgent care and they directed us to the Children's Hospital downtown. So, off we went. They decided his fever was probably caused by a slight ear infection. They put him on Amoxicillin. In our life, that can't just be the end of the story! We ended up at the urgent care on Monday evening because of a rash covering Braiden's chest and back. Diagnosis, possible allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Go figure!!!!!!!!! We stopped the meds and the rash is gone. He seems completely normal :-)

Finding Time to Update...

Is not easy these days! So, here are a bunch of updates wrapped into one :-) After the video of Braiden singing, " Take Me Out to the Ball Game" he dressed in his Cubs gear to school. I of course had to snap a few pictures. Aren't those cheeks so kissable :-) A couple of weekends ago, Braiden went to a local park to celebrate his friend's birthday party. Braiden enjoyed coloring a prince crown. And.... eating cheese balls! We had our first homework assignment. After completing the assignment, I completely understood why his teachers sent it home to do... Check out the mess! About a week ago Braiden tested positive for the flu. No vomiting, thank goodness. Just a fever and upper respiratory flu. The past few days his cough has seemed to be bothering him so we've started back on nebulizer treatments before bed. He seems to react well to his treatments and is getting good rest. Big boy taking his nebulizer all by himself!

Friday night was beautiful! 80 degrees and breezy, so we headed to a festival near by with friends. Everyone enjoyed themselves and Braiden tasted fried okra for the first time and actually LIKED it!

A few weekends ago Braiden was invited to one of his friends Pirate themed birthday parties. Right up Braiden's alley. The party was outside at a park and they had CAKE :-)

Dave and I headed to Savannah, GA to celebrate St. Patrick's Day thanks to the wonderful Gigi coming to town to take great care of our sweet baby boy. This was the first time I've ever left my baby and while I had a great time, I sure did miss his fat little face. I think it will be a while until I leave him again for four days!

This afternoon we decided it would be fun to head to a place we've never been. It's called, Marine Land and it's an interactive experience with dolphins, so we thought Braiden would enjoy it. He loves water and he love fish!

Big Boy Underwear

Braiden's been fighting something this week and is running a fever and has bad diaper rash. I've been trying to keep him without a diaper when we're hanging out around the house and our neighbors let us barrow some kid underwear, however they were from his friend Ashlynn and they were PINK :-) The other afternoon, after work, Dave stopped and bought some tough boy underwear. Braiden was so excited and really enjoyed wearing them!

A Big Boy Haircut

This morning after church we took Braiden to get his hair cut! This is his 4th haircut and this is the first time that they used clippers to do the entire cut... that's how much hair he had. they touched it up with some scissors.
This is a before picture...As you can tell, he was not happy about having to sit for a picture.

The Only Time Braiden Sits is to...

READ! It's very rare that Braiden sits still, but he absolutely loves picking out a book and sitting quietly. It usually doesn't last long, but even for a few minutes, the peace and quiet and calmness in the house is nice :-) Dave and I were getting ready for church this morning and all of a sudden the family room went from loud to quiet. When I walked out to see what Braiden was doing, this is what I found...
