A New Addition to the Dore Family

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We enjoyed our Christmas and the time spent with my parents. Our weather was in the high 70's and low 80's so being in the Christmas spirit was a little hard this year. This year we got a lot of things for our house, which was great! For both sets of parents, we gave something very tiny this year. It was a picture frame with our new addition to the family set to make his/her way sometime in July! You guessed it.... We are expecting our first baby and boy are we thrilled!
I found out i was pregnant on November 7th. I was only 4 weeks along. So, the secret has been hard to keep, especially for Dave who can't keep a secret to save his life, but he did well : )
I've been feeling perfectly fine. No morning sickness at all, thank goodness. I will be 11 weeks tomorrow (Monday) and am quickly begining to grow.

It's Begining to Look a lot like Christmas

WOW! With owning a house comes a lot of firsts! This is our first year putting up a tree and decorating the house. I know this may come as a shock to many, but I actually talked my husband into climbing on the roof to hang Christmas lights! Do not get me wrong, he didn't do it without a fuss, but he did it and I have to say... for a first time job it looks wonderful! Now that I know he is capable of doing it, just wait to see what I have in store for next year : )

Thanksgiving 2008

Every year, or at least for the past 5 years of living in Jacksonville Dave and I go over to the Taylor's for Thanksgiving. We always have a wonderful time and the food is absolutely delicious!
This year was just as good as the years past, but of course it came with a little bit of drama. The day was going as planned, the food all turned out perfectly, the table was set and all of the food was placed neatly on the table. Dave said the blessing this year and at the conclusing we all took our seats and began passing the food. As soon as everyone was ready to eat, we heard a crack. The table split right down the middle! Everyone quickly grabbed a dish and took it from the dining room into the kitchen. The glass table was remoed in two peices and dinner was eaten in the kitchen this Thanksgiving. There's always something to be greatful for, and this year it was that even though the table broke we were able to salvage the food! Thank goodness!

Back Tracking to Halloween

Since this blog is new and right now we don't have a lot going on, it has been requested by a specific someone that I back track and post pictures of what Dave and I have been up to in the past few months.
Since we now have our own home we decided to have a Halloween Party. It was just a small group of us, but we sure had fun! Everyone's costumes were great, as was the food, drinks, and company.
We might have to make this a reoccurring event at the Dore house.

Hello Friends and Family

I figured now is as good as any of a time to create a blog in order for our family and friends to be able to keep up with us. Just a quick post to get everyone up to speed on where we are in our lives. We had a very busy 2008! We purchased our first home, got married, honeymooned in the Bahamas, and continue to keep busy at our jobs. This is our first year in our new home and the first time celebrating and hosting Christmas! My parents will be in Jacksonville and my brother and some friends from Jacksonville will be here to celebrate Christmas with us.
I will try my best to keep up with this page, so check back every once in a while to see what's new with us.
We are looking forward to the holidays and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2009!
